Rec 2 Going Theatrical in July?

Could it be?!? Could it really be?!? Those of us in the United States had to wait what felt like forever for the home video release of [REC], and for a while it seemed as if we’d be doing the same for its sequel [REC] 2 (review here). However, some news slipped out today that tells a very different story.
According to Bloody Disgusting Magnolia Pictures is planning on a July theatrical run for Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza’s sequel with Sony Home Entertainment putting it on DVD this coming October. We’re still waiting for the official word to come down, but things are looking good. More as we get it!
Synopsis
It has been just 15 minutes after authorities lost contact with the people locked in the building under quarantine. Nobody knows what happens inside. Outside is chaos…a SWAT unit enters the interior of the house to monitor the situation and determine what is happening. A seemingly quick and easy task. But everyone knows. Sometimes appearances can be deceiving…
