With one of the best ensemble casts we’ve ever seen — and it looks like Laurence Fishburne might be signing on as well — master plot weaver Steven Soderbergh’s Contagion is shaping up to be “the” deadly viral outbreak film of the decade. Now, thanks to actor Jude Law, who’s out and about promoting Repo Men, we have a little clearer picture of at least one of the film’s characters.
While chatting with MTV Movies Blog, Law describes his role as “a kind of unbridled blogger who’s a sort of scaremonger” and also confirmed shooting of the film will begin before the end of this year. He continues, “It’s an enormous ensemble piece so it’s someone’s logistical nightmare. How they get us all, I don’t know.”
Who exactly is in that ensemble besides Law and the aforementioned Fishburne? Just Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, and Marion Cotillard. Law explains the Scott Z. Burns-scripted film is “basically…about a deadly virus unleashed, and you see it from many different points of view, whether it be the public, medical care, politicians.”
