Bret Michaels Has Nothing to Lose

In case you’ve missed it, for the past couple of months Dread Central has been running a new feature spearheaded by our own MattFini, Saturday Nightmares, an homage to those slightly obscure horror and exploitation films that are deserving of a place in your DVD player each and every Saturday night. More often than not, the films mentioned are 80’s slasher fare. And what goes better with 80’s horror than an 80’s hair band icon like Bret Michaels?

Recently the former Poison frontman appeared on the TBS late night show “Lopez Tonight” in support of his new single, “Nothing To Lose”, for the first live performance of the ballad. Michaels stripped down the performance, sitting under the stage lights just himself and an acoustic guitar, as the song was originally written.

Check it out below and see what you think:

Fans of Bret can catch him on tour starting March 12th and also on the new season of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice” starting March 14th. “Nothing To Lose” is also available on iTunes and at BretMichaels.com on a CD that includes all five recorded versions of the song: solo, solo acoustic, featuring Miley Cyrus, acoustic featuring Miley Cyrus, and a country version also featuring the Disney starlet. “Nothing To Lose” will also be on Michaels’ forthcoming full-length album entitled Custom Built.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

I kept expecting him to break into ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’. Not bad though. I do love me some acoustic guitar.
