Another New A Nightmare on Elm Street Poster

Another new poster for Platinum Dunes’ A Nightmare on Elm Street reboot surfaced today — they’re calling this one a “banner” for some reason — and of course we’ve got it here for you hot off the presses!

The Samuel Bayer directed remake stars Jackie Earle Haley, Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Katie Cassidy, Thomas Dekker, Kellan Lutz, Clancy Brown, and Connie Britton and focuses on a serial child molester murdered by angry parents, who returns with a burnt face and a razor glove to terrorize teens in their dreams.

Check out the latest poster below, and if you like what you see, click on it to see it even bigger. For more info visit the official A Nightmare on Elm Street website, and look for the film in theatres on April 30th, 2010.

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  1. Is it just me or does Freddy look proportionally tiny compared to the chick? I mean, I know it’s forced perspective and all… she’s closer to the “camera” then him, but the way they’ve got it makes him look less substantial than her which seems like the opposite of what you’d want to do for a scary movie poster.

    • I don’t see why they couldn’t have just remade the original art from NOES but with the new actress instead of Langenkamp.

      • Because that would have been GOOD. Obviously. ;)

Same story with the tagline. “He knows where you sleep”? Sounds more Santa than Freddy. And it’s no way a match for “If Nancy doesn’t wake up screaming, she won’t wake up at all.”

  2. All opinions aside, that is an awful photoshop job. Well not awful, but it’s pretty thrown together. Not even a correct keying job around her head. I think that’s why she’s red, so you can see the green screen spill over.

    • How do you say all opinions aside and then give an opinion of your own? Buz, you’ve been hitting the sauce again.

It’s pretty obviously just a bad photoshop job. You figure they’d want to put more work in to the posters for a much hyped remake.

  3. Interpretation: Freddy represents the NOES franchise, and in front of him is a woman who represents the fans… who are slowly sinking into a pit of despair and hopelessness that the series will ever regain its former glory.

  4. Maybe the poster is supposed to be a dream. Who knows these movies can get away with the most absurd and ridiculous shit because none of it is real. It’s one big 2 hour dream sequence cop out. I hate those.

      • Hahahahahahah I thought the same thing. It looks like they’re just throwing out variations of one picture. The other poster is just a close up of this photo but from his chest up. This looks like they just pasted the pic of the female at the bottom. LOL

  5. I’m confused, is that girl in a pool of blood? And why is Freddy in daylight if he appears in dreams? I’m confused.
