Will Smith To Star in Hitchcock Remake, Suspicion

Ever since the remake of Psycho Hollywood has pretty much kept far away from Alfred Hitchcock films in terms of reimaginings. However, The Birds remake is still very much happening, and we can now add the 1941 thriller Suspicion to the list.

According to our buds over at Latino Review, Will Smith will be both producing and starring in Suspicion, which tells the tale of a handsome playboy (Smith) who lives by borrowing money from his friends. Upon getting married, his spouse becomes suspicious of his behavior and starts believing her husband is a murderer and she could be his next victim.

Sounds like perfect popcorn fodder for today’s moviegoers, and we know Smith has the chops to pull it off. This one is all gonna fall on the shoulders of the director who has yet to be named. Stay tuned!

Hitchcock can’t be done better or even as good as or anywhere even close.

Will Smith isn’t the Fresh Prince anymore. That was a long fucking time ago and is some old shit. If you haven’t seen The Pursuit of Happiness then…..

    • Terminal

The Pursuit if Happyness was mindless manipulative dribble.

  • Terminal

Of course, because when I think of Cary Grant, I immediately go to The Fresh Prince.

  • The Woman In Black

Will Smith is no Cary Grant, that’s for sure!

WiB…I would have thought they’d go with Clooney for something like this. He strikes me as the closest thing we have to Carey Grant nowadays.

      • Terminal

Clooney is a great actor and a real presence, but we’ve yet to have a new Cary Grant. Grant was an incredible actor BUT he was also an excellent comedic performer. Watch “Bringing up Baby” and “Arsenic and Old Lace” for proof of that.

I wonder if they’ll go with the ending Hitchcock originally wanted but the studio wouldn’t allow him to use.

  • Vanvance1

He helped contribute the to crapfest that was ‘I Am Legend’…. Maybe he’ll get run over a bus before he can soil another classic.
