Badass New One-Sheet: Survival of the Dead

There’s nobody on the planet more excited for the release of George A. Romero’s Survival of the Dead than I am. Having been on-set, in make-up, and feasting on the entrails of the living as one of this latest batch of flesheaters, I’m as hungry to get my hands on the final product as anyone! Still, the official one-sheet will do for now.

Magnet will be releasing the film on April 30th via VOD, XBOX Live, Playstation, and Amazon and then follow that release with a limited theatrical run on May 28th.

Like its predecessors, Romero’s Survival of the Dead (reviews here and here) takes place in a desperate, nightmarish world where the dead walk the earth, relentlessly attacking the living. It is the story of Plum Island – a beautiful refuge whose isolation allows two powerful families to maintain a semblance of order in the wake of the zombie holocaust. But as the inhabitants slowly die off, the two clans become sharply divided: The O’Flynns believe that the undead must be destroyed without exception, while the Muldoons insist that afflicted loved ones be kept “alive” until a cure is found. The result is an escalating showdown with echoes of a classic Western stand-off that erupts in brutality and violence.

  1. Why can’t they make posters like the original “Night of the Living Dead”, “Dawn” or “Day of the Dead”? What ever happened to making posters with artwork on them?

  2. Man, this poster is seriously stank.

I mean, I know there’s only so much you can do with zombies on a poster, but it doesn’t even look like they were trying in the least bit. It’s so incredibly bland and definitely looks like a very cheap Photoshop job. Not very professional looking.

I don’t think this poster is Romero worthy at all. I really hope they come up with a better one.
