First Alien: Covenant Set Images Find Their Way Online

Cameras are set to start rolling within the next week on Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, and the crew has begun preparing for part of the shoot that’s taking place at New Zealand’s Fiordland National Park. We’ve got a little bit of a sneak peek for ya today, so read on if you’re hungry for all things Alien!
Courtesy of the website AvP Galaxy comes a few paparazzi-style images of the set, which were taken on-location in front of Mitre Peak, an iconic mountain in the South of New Zealand. As the site notes, it looks like the crew is building at least some part of a spaceship, though it’s hard to know for sure.

The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Benjamin Rigby, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez.
Twentieth Century Fox will unleash Alien: Covenant on August 4, 2017.
Specific plot details for the new film are being closely guarded; but it is believed to follow the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet, who discover what they believe is an uncharted paradise but is, in fact, a dark, dangerous world, the only inhabitant of which is David (Fassbender), the “synthetic” and survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.
