Amanda Seyfried to Star In Catherine Hardwicke’s The Girl With the Red Riding Hood?

Amanda Seyfried to Star In Catherine Hardwicke's The Girl With the Red Riding Hood?“Big Love” and Jennifer’s Body star Amanda Seyfried is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s go-to girls, and with good reason — she brings a freshness to even the most mundane of roles. Good thing for us she’s looking to continue to work within the genre.

The LA Times reports that Warner Bros. appears to be making strides toward getting its own Gothic story of werewolves and young-women-in-peril closer to the screen with Twilight director Catherine Harwicke at the helm. Seems like a safe enough bet to rake in the tweener dough, no?

The Girl with the Red Riding Hood is picking up momentum and has gotten itself a shiny new script written by David Johnson (Orphan). Seyfried is without question the frontrunner to topline the project, which is a retelling of the old Red Riding Hood fairy tale. According to the Times Warner needs to go into production soon if they’re going to keep Hardwicke on board.

Look for more soon.

I read the script and really liked it. It’s kind of ‘horror-lite’ along the lines of SLEEPY HOLLOW but still really well-done with a good mystery at its core.

And the draft I read was nothing like TWILIGHT, so when that word starts getting thrown around I’d say just ignore it.

LOVE Seyfried. I’ll see anything with her.

      Anything?… Really…?

      So, how was Dear John?

      • Terminal

Haven’t seen it, but I intend to.

        Yeah I said it.

        • Emy

          It’s ok.

I plan on seeing it for her male counterpart…

I love Seyfried, too, but sometimes you just have to draw a line. I’ll re-watch some Big Love instead.

You do that. I’ll be watching whatever she comes out in. I sat through Mamma Mia! for the chick, I’ll sit through Dear John.
