Here’s a call to all you resident writers, poets, and graphic artists out there: If you’re inclined to whip up a tribute to the late, great Jacinto Molina (aka Paul Naschy), then go ahead and get something ready. It just might get published!
Call for Submissions for a Magazine to Honor Paul Naschy!
A few cinema geeks and the owner of WildSideCinema.com have gotten together in order to pay tribute to the work of the late great Paul Naschy. With the support and participation of Naschy’s own son and his graphic novel illustrator, they’ll be putting together a magazine filled with articles, reviews, poems, and artwork.
The list of people submitting work include Fangoria Comix artist Javier Trujillo, Spider-Man/Superman artist Neil Vokes, Videooze editor Bob Sargent, cult cinema expert David Zuzelo, filmmaker Keith Crocker of Wild Eye Releasing, graphic designer Brandon Voeller, the editors of Mad Mad Mad Mad Movies, and more!
The tentative deadline for submissions is February 25th, all work is to be original (unless a reprint is arranged), and all work is based on donations (no pay). All work will receive full credit, and each person that submits will be listed (along with their website) on a credits page for reader reference.
This is not a major project and won’t be worldwide. It will be printed through Lulu’s POD service. This is a labor of love and a fond farewell to a great icon.
Those of you interested in giving this a go should contact Brian Harris at Wild Side Cinema.
