Another Joe Ledger Novel on Its Way: The Dragon FactoryEx-Baltimore cop turned Special Ops shooter Joe Ledger is back in action in Jonathan Maberry’s The Dragon Factory from St. Martin’s Griffin, and this time around he and his team from the DMS (Department of Military Sciences) square off against two competing groups of corrupt scientists.

Ledger was first introduced in Maberry’s Patient Zero back in March, 2009, and come March 2, 2010, the sequel hits bookstore shelves everywhere. Here’s a brief summary: One side is creating exotic transgenic monsters and genetically enhanced mercenary armies; the other is using 21st Century technology to continue the Nazi Master Race program begun by Josef Mengele. Both sides want to see the DMS destroyed, and they’ve drawn first blood. Neither side is prepared for Joe Ledger as he leads Echo Team to war under a black flag.

Maberry is a multiple Bram Stoker Award-winning author, magazine feature writer, playwright, content creator, and writing teacher/lecturer. His novels include Ghost Road Blues (winner of the Stoker Award for Best First Novel in 2006), Dead Man’s Song (review here), Bad Moon Rising, and television optioned Patient Zero. In addition, he writes The Black Panther comic for Marvel as well as a variety of projects involving Wolverine, Spider-Man, The Punisher, and other heroes.

While Joe has announced his retirement, eager readers can look forward to one more volume in this humorous, over-the-top cross-genre trilogy. Pre-order your copy of The Dragon Factory below, and pick up a copy of Patient Zero, too, while you’re at it!
