Dead Rising 2 Infects North America On August 31

On February 11th Capcom announced at X10 that Dead Rising 2’s release date is August 31st in North America with Japanese and European release dates to follow shortly after. Capcom also revealed that Xbox 360 gamers will see exclusive downloadable content, titled Dead Rising: FIRST CASE, which bridges the gap between the first and second games.
In this follow-up to 2006’s Dead Rising, the game takes place a few years later and the zombie parasite that originated in Santa Cabeza has spread all over the United States. This time you’re Chuck Greene, former national motocross champion who somehow finds himself caught in the middle of the zombie apocalypse in Fortune City (modeled after Las Vegas). Just like Frank West (Dead Rising 1), Chuck must survive through every zombie horde he gets into as well as psychopaths and rescue survivors. Among the survivors is Chuck’s own daughter, which serves as his primary motivation for battling the undead.
Producer Keiji Inafune takes it one step further by saying in an interview that part of Chuck’s quest will include forced participate in the violent game show, “Terror is Reality”
Here’s the latest bit of gameplay shown at X10. It looks great, but he ain’t no Frank West. As one of the YouTube comments said: “Frank would rape this guy with a lawnmower”.
