Dead Silence screens in BostonLast night was a good night for one 19-year-old Boston resident. Of all the entries submitted to the Dead Silence contest that offered a screening of the movie in the winner’s hometown, he was the one chosen. Not only did he and about 100 of his closest friends get to see Dead Silence before anyone else, they got to hang out with the film’s creators, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, beforehand!

Needless to say he was a happy kid.

Dead Silence screens in BostonI wasn’t terribly unhappy myself, as we were invited to attend along with the sexy beasts from JoBlo, a former Mass repping Bloody Disgusting and a local IGN rep, as well. Why were we there? I’m still not entirely sure, but I can report back that everyone had a great time, much swag was handed out, and Dead Silence really does kick a lot of ass. Whannell and Wan have been saying from the outset that they just wanted to create a genuinely scary, old school ghost story and that’s just what they did. I can imagine the image of Mary Shaw and her freaky dolls will be burned into the nightmares of those who go to see it for years to come.

While in attendance I snapped some photos to commemorate the event, thought you all would dig checking them out. If nothing else to see how sexy we internet folk are in real life… See the rest of the pics below and get out there to support Dead Silence; this one needs to be #1!
