DVD Releases: Feb. 9, 2010: Listen to the Dead Tone of Shock Festival in Dante’s Inferno

A couple of flicks we’ve been talking about for quite some time are finally hitting store shelves this week including the animated Dante’s Inferno, the long-awaited Dead Tone (formerly known as 7eventy 5ive) from directors Brian Hooks and Deon Taylor, and the three-disc exploitation extravaganza known as Shock Festival from Stephen Romano (with a couple of commentaries from our own Uncle Creepy).

Rounding out the list are two volumes of Bad Girls of Film Noir, some unknown quantities such as 9 Lives of Mara and Butchered, the provocative and stylized Bronson, a Blu-ray release of Running Man, and the 1999 “Masterpiece Mystery” thriller series Second Sight starring Clive Owen. Okay, technically those last two aren’t straight horror, but with all the Arnold and Clive fans we have on the site, I figured enough people would want to know about them that they warranted inclusion.

As for the pick of the week, it’s a tough call, but I have to go with Shock Festival. It’s just too damn fun — and informative — to be without. And be sure to click here to buy the book, too, if you haven’t yet. No collection is complete without the pair!
