Dorks Live Again

Thank God, someone is finally getting around to remaking Night of the Living Dorks (DVD review), the classic German zomcom that came out on DVD … oh, about a month ago, give or take. Why did we have to wait so long?

Warner Independent Pictures is behind the remake with Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Doug Davidson producing, which marks a departure for the duo, usually behind any sort of straightforward horror remake you can imagine. Night of the Living Dorks will be their first comedy.

Former “Drew Carey Show” writer Chris Bishop is attached to pen the new script, which will likely follow the same concept as the 2004 German original: A group of terribly uncool friends decide to perform a voodoo ritual to get their revenge on those who bullied them. When they all die in a car crash shortly thereafter, they find themselves back from the dead and craving human flesh. Now they have all the strength they want and feel no pain, but they’re also rotting away.

Anchor Bay released the German-language original on DVD in February, which you can get by clicking here! We’ll have more on the U.S. remake very soon so stay tuned!
