Believe it or not, radio is still a thing. Yup, in this age of YouTube and social media, people still somehow find the time to listen to some good old-fashioned transmitted broadcasts.

So if you find that your internet crashes, or if you want something to keep you occupied on a long car journey, then check out the newly launched “Green Room Radio” from Oscar-winning studio A24, which will offer exclusive and in-depth coverage of some of the goings-on in the film industry.

It’s being launched to coincide with the neo-Nazi film Green Room, starring Patrick Stewart, which opens on April 15.

From the Press Release:
Academy Award-winning film studio A24 launches Green Room Radio (GRR!), a new online punk rock radio show featuring a unique programming format of intimate interviews, anecdotes, and a rotating playlist of hardcore punk, on GreenRoom-Radio.com. Hosted by Tony Rettman, author of NYHC: New York Hardcore 1980-1990, the weekly series launches its first episode with Ted Leo of Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, speaking about terrible gigs, his entrance into the hardcore scene, and a new Ted Leo and the Pharmacists album, plus music from Born Against, Straight Ahead, and SS Decontrol.

New episodes of Green Room Radio will stream live every Wednesday at 12 noon ET (9 a.m. PT) on GreenRoom-Radio.com, with Episode 1 available now. Following the broadcast, each episode will be distributed to iTunes, Mixcloud, and Soundcloud.

Launching in anticipation of the upcoming film Green Room — a crime horror-thriller centered around an unsuspecting young punk band starring Patrick Stewart, Anton Yelchin, Imogen Poots, and Alia Shawkat – Green Room Radio will cover the good, the bad, and the crazy moments of this subculture, bringing hardcore to a broader audience and educating the public on the movement’s history, influence, and characters. Each episode will feature one-on-one interviews with an assortment of hardcore punk legends, as well as the next generation of musicians inspired by the genre, with future guests including Ned Russin from Title Fight and Richie Birkenhead from Underdog, Black Flag co-founder and OFF! frontman Keith Morris, Roger Mirret from Agnostic Front, plus the filmmaker and cast of Green Room.

In addition to serving as a hub for Green Room Radio broadcasts, GreenRoom-Radio.com will provide exclusive editorial content from notable journalists and industry insiders such as Steven Blush, author of American Hardcore: A Tribal History; Bryan Ray Turcotte, author of Fucked Up + Photocopied; Anthony Pappalardo, author of Radio Silence: A Selected Visual History of American Hardcore; and more.

About Green Room:
Coming to theatres April 15 (NY & LA), April 22 (expansion), and April 29 (nationwide), Green Room is a brilliantly crafted and wickedly fun horror-thriller written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier and starring Patrick Stewart as a diabolical club owner who squares off against an unsuspecting but resilient young punk band. Down on their luck punk rockers The Ain’t Rights are finishing up a long and unsuccessful tour and are about to call it quits when they get an unexpected booking at an isolated, rundown club deep in the backwoods of Oregon. What seems merely to be a third-rate gig escalates into something much more sinister when they witness an act of violence backstage that they weren’t meant to see. Now trapped backstage, they must face off against the club’s depraved owner, Darcy Banker (Stewart), a man who will do anything to protect the secrets of his nefarious enterprise.
