Four New Repo Men Posters Show off the Synthetics

Four new posters for the Repossession Mambo, now known as Repo Men, have come to light showing off all the spare parts you could ever want or need!

Directed by Miguel Sapochnik and starring Jude Law, Forest Whitaker, Liev Schreiber, RZA, Alice Braga, and Carice van Houten, Repo Men arrives in theaters April 2, 2010. Check out some of the goodies below, and visit the official Repo Men website for more.

“In the futuristic action-thriller Repo Men, humans have extended and improved our lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union. The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don’t pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property … with no concern for your comfort or survival.

Jude Law plays Remy, one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company’s top-of-the-line heart replacement … as well as a hefty debt. But a side effect of the procedure is that his heart’s no longer in the job. When he can’t make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy’s former partner Jake (Academy Award® winner Forest Whitaker), to track him down.

Now that the hunter has become the hunted, Remy joins Beth (Alice Braga), another debtor who teaches him how to vanish from the system. And as he and Jake embark on a chase across a landscape populated by maniacal friends and foes, one man will become a reluctant champion for thousands on the run.”

Maybe it will be better than “Repo: The Genetic Opera”, because I thought that film was easily one of the worst films of that year. Just my opinion.

  • DavidFullam

Huh? I thought we just had some film called “Repo-The Genetic Opera.”

Hollywood has a habit of reusing popular concepts or having similairlly themed movies coming out at the same time. Armageddon and Deep Impact, Dante’s Peak and Volcano..etc.

Even so, cool posters I will say.

I’m looking forward to this movie.

    And… it’s not horror.

The assumption being that this shouldn’t be covered on the site, I assume? Should they have covered “Repo” then?

I looked into this when they first announced it. The movies have no relation to eachother, people have been saying Repo Men (or Reposession Mambo) was based on a short story written a year before the Repo stage shows began, but others have been saying that the screenplay was being developed alongside with a novel back in 2003. Darren Bousman also addressed the deal with Reposession Mambo and Repo! The Genetic Opera and said there aren’t any plans to press charges but it is disappointing to work so hard for something just to have something like this happen. I do admit even with all of this going on I kind of want to see it but I don’t think I’m going to pay for it, because honestly the way it looks right now is Hollywood trampeling on the little guys and recycling their ideas.

Is this some sequel to “Repo: The Genetic Opera” because the premise is too close for comfort.

I was wondering the same thing, more that it might be some remake; I saw a poster for this in the theaters when I went to go see Avatar and I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a lawsuit in the works.
