Gore Filled Trailer: Frankenstein Rising

Eviscerated bodies? Check. Well endowed chicks? Check. Ultra violence? Check. Heavily modified body of a convicted murderer waiting to be re-animated through the wonders of science? Double check! Yep, all the key components are here. We must be talking about a new flick based upon Mary Shelley’s classic tale!

Are you ready for Frankenstein Rising? The film directed by Eric Swelstad and starring Randal Malone as the monster is a very indie production with its newly sewn in heart in the right place. Sure the creature ends up looking like a portly unmasked Darth Vader, but hell, that’s part of its damned charm!

Check out the synopsis and trailer below, and head on over to Undead Backbrain for a little behind-the-scenes goodness. Thanks to DC reader Avery for the heads-up!

Synopsis
“A “Descendant of Frankenstein” variant – in which a member of the original doctor’s latter-day gene pool becomes obsessed with his/her ancestor’s experiments and proceeds to replicate them, right down to the inevitable blood and gore – Frankenstein Rising (due for release in 2010) plays on the Gothic aspects of the story’s cinema tradition and takes the “Re-Animator” path in terms of its aesthetic qualities — lots of blood and guts and an outrageous horror exuberance.”

I like the look of it! It’s got a low budget but a big heart. It has a classic feel to it at the same time that we get to see a cyborg-Frankenstein. That and two classic screen sirens to boot! Count me in!
