Predators isn’t due in theaters until this summer, and while 20th Century Fox is being understandably tight-lipped as to its story, actor Louis Ozawa Changchien recently spoke about his role in the film, revealing some interesting plot details along the way.
Changchien spilled a few beans to Gigazine about what we can expect when we fork down our hard-earned bucks this summer to see the third film in the Predator proper franchise.
Laurence Fishburne is indeed on board, and he’ll be playing a haggard, isolated cave-dweller who has somehow survived on the Predator planet for ten years. No word on whether or not this was intended to be Arnold Schwarzenegger’s part in the film, although Changchien alludes to this being the case.
Changchien also talked a little bit about his character, Hanzo: ”He’s basically a mean yakuza…very much feared and very skilled. Excellent gun man and also competent with a sword. A yakuza abducted by the Predators.”
It sounds like these characters are going to be a colorful bunch and I’m really looking forward to seeing what Nimrod Antal and Robert Rodriguez have in store for us. Hopefully this will get the franchise back on track after those awful AVP films.
