We continue getting updates on the progress of Sherwood Horror, a modern day horror version of Robin Hood with an ex-con Robin Hood type getting out of jail and returning to his hometown now ruled by vampires. The film has yet to begin shooting, but it looks like that is about to change given a special effects artist is now onboard and we have a look at the conceptual art of the vampirized Sheriff Nottingham.
The following press release arrived in our inbox today:
Vincent Guastini and his company V.G.P. Effects & Design Studio have come aboard John Regan’s Sherwood Horror, a contemporary set reimagining of the Robin Hood legend with bite. Ex-con Rob Locksley (DJ Perry) returns home after a six-year absence to find his town under the rule of vampires. He must join forces with his old roughneck hunting buddies to wage war against the evil Sheriff and his horde of blood-suckers.
Guastini and his talented team of artists will handle the creature effects. Regan adds “Getting Vincent to bring Sherwood’s vampires to life is a dream come true.” Guastini’s credits include Letters From Iwo Jima, Requiem For A Dream, Kevin Smith’s Dogma, Last Of The Mohicans, and Stephen King’s Thinner.
In addition, Terry Jernigan has now joined the cast, which includes DJ Perry, Taymour Ghazi, and Mike Powers. Jernigan is set to play Nottingham, a head vampire who usurps the role of Sheriff in order to control and manipulate the people of Sherwood while his coven feeds on the innocent. Jernigan’s credits include “Border Town” “The 8th Plague” “Dean Teaster’s Ghost Town”, “An Ordinary Killer” and “Judges”. He has also appeared in Terrence Malick’s “New World” and “Hearts In Atlantis”.
The film will be produced by DJ Perry under his Collective Development Inc. banner CDI Productions. Regan will direct from his own screenplay.
Now dig on the conceptual artwork for the evil Sheriff Nottingham.
