The Caretaker Takin’ Care of the Killin’ Teens Business

Every good slasher needs a hook – sometimes literally (i.e., I Know What You Did Last Summer). It’s all about the look, the location, and/or the weapon of choice. The Caretaker killer is… Well, the title tells you his occupation. He appears to have a unique harvesting tool as his designated instrument of death.
The rest of the film looks like your typical teens in a dark house in the woods getting stalked and stabbed. But it also has Jennifer Tilly doing her crazy sexy shtick, so it might not be all bad.
“A group of teenage boys out to give their girlfriends a good scare on Homecoming night, which also happens to be Halloween, head to an abandoned house in an out-of-the-way fruit orchard where they uncover the story of a real life urban legend.”
Jennifer Tilly and Judd Nelson get top billing even though it’s obvious they both have supporting roles; in Nelson’s case, extremely minor, it would seem.
MTI Video is set to release The Caretaker to DVD on February 23rd. They have also released a trailer that does little to make you anticipate the release date.
Only one thing stood out to me watching that trailer. Jennifer Tilly is over 50, and yet, her cleavage never seems to age. Does she like have a Dorian Gray painting of her boobs in her attic or what?
