Warner Has Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

Well, what the hell, right? Since the proposed Oldboy remake has tanked, why not just remake another film in Park Chan-wook’s Vengeance series?

Variety reports that Warner Bros. has acquired remake rights to the Park-directed Korean film Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (review here) and set Brian Tucker (Broken City) to write the script.

In the film the women two different men love most are murdered, and the men set out on violent quests to punish those responsible. Trouble is, they themselves are the ones responsible, and only one of them will have vengeance.

Look for more on this one soon, if it ends up moving forward that is. Dig on the trailer for the original below.
