On the night of March 13, 1997, thousands of residents in Phoenix, Arizona, reported seeing lights and strange objects in the sky overhead. Many believe, to this day, it was an alien visitation. Upcoming film The Phoenix Incident is based on the events of that day, and it’s headed to limited theaters this coming March. Read on for all the details!

From the Press Release:
Call of Duty talent director Keith Arem and Concourse Media announce the U.S. national premiere of UFO conspiracy-thriller THE PHOENIX INCIDENT with Fathom Events for a one-night event on March 10, 2016, in 100+ cinemas nationwide.

Blurring the line between fiction and reality, Keith Arem’s debut feature is a fact-based, sci-fi thriller that revolves around a possible military conspiracy and the controversial missing persons case tied to the infamous 1997 event. Shot in a unique found-footage/documentary style, the feature echoes horror genre classics such as The Blair Witch Project and Cloverfield.

THE PHOENIX INCIDENT is based on the largest UFO sighting in North America, known as the Phoenix Lights. Featuring never-before-seen classified recordings and material, THE PHOENIX INCIDENT presents evidence of an extraterrestrial encounter resulting from the US Air Force’s direct engagement with an unidentified craft over the Estrella Mountains.

“THE PHOENIX INCIDENT breaks the mold of traditional productions,” said writer-director Keith Arem. “We took a transmedia approach to storytelling by incorporating everything from online sources and toll-free call-in sites to live events, mobile apps – all pushing towards a theatrical event. This thriller changes the way stories are told and builds an immersive audience experience.”

Keith Arem, a native of Arizona where UFO sightings were a frequent reality, is an accomplished gaming industry veteran who has talent directed AAA franchises including Call of Duty, Saints Row, Ghost Recon, Spiderman, Tony Haw Pro Skater, and Titanfall. He is also president of Los Angeles-based content creation company PCB Productions, specializing in interactive, film, television, and digital media.

“Keith is a man of many talents; his unique gaming background proved priceless in transforming an indie budget project into a visually rich event, rife with action and special effects that can compete on a level with bigger budget productions,” said Concourse Media co-partner James Andrew Felts. “We’re thrilled to introduce this to audiences via a smart, multi-platform strategy that takes audiences well beyond the theater walls.”

The event will be shown in 100+ theaters nationwide with Fathom Events for one night on March 10, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. local time. Tickets are available starting February 12, 2016, at FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices.
