Slamdance Winner Rolls

Bobby Darren & Nathan Brookes, writers of SlaughterRemember a while back (here specifically) we told you about the horror screenplay competition that Slamdance would be hosting this year, with the promise that whatever screenplay won would actually see the light of cameras? Well, good news; a winner has been chosen and production is ramping up!

The Hollywood Reporter got the word that Slaughter, written by Bobby Darren and Nathan Brookes, is going into production with the help of Angel Baby Entertainment and Maverick Red. Not much info about the screenplay was in the article (or anywhere else I looked), other than that the script is an homage to Japanese cult horror films, so it should be interesting to see what comes of it.

Especially considering the winners, pictured above, look to be about 16. Damn.

Things will move along quickly on the production now, as Slaughter is set to make its premiere at next year’s Slamdance, which I’m sure will be getting hit with even more entries this time out now that they’ve shown they’re as good as their word! Check out all the Slamdance award information right here to see who almost made it!
