This past season of Showtime’s hit series “Dexter” was everything that a television show should be. With equal parts comedy, drama, and horror, it delivered an absolute knock-out punch to fans of the series with its final episode.
Recently Entertainment Weekly caught up with Dexter himself, Michael C. Hall, to discuss the show’s gut-wrenching final scene, the direction of next season, and a bit more in a spoiler-heavy interview.
“Had this season not ended the way it ended, there’s almost a sense that Dexter is entertaining the thought that maybe he’s going to get this out of his system. That if he kills Trinity, who’s left to kill?” Hall tells EW. “I think he’s entertaining the notion that maybe he’s done. [But] with this season ending the way it ends — and Dexter experiencing this appetite for vengeance that he can’t satiate — all bets are off on that front.”
