Summit Entertainment Set to Drive Angry

Drive AngryGood news for those of us excited to see Nicolas Cage and Nicolas Cage’s hair in Patrick Lussier’s 3D revenge film Drive Angry … the flick has gotten itself some distro! We LOVE when that happens!

According to The Hollywood Reporter Summit Entertainment has picked up the North American distribution rights for the hopefully chaotic movie, even going so far as setting a release date of February 11th, 2011.

Written by Lussier and Todd Farmer, the story centers on a man (Cage) driven by rage who is chasing the people who killed his daughter and kidnapped her baby. The vendetta/rescue spins out of control as the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway.

For a moment I thought all Nu Image films were being brought by Overture.

Nice to see that Summit are now moving away from teenage films. Makes business sense since they’ve all flopped apart from the Twlight flicks.
