Bind poster (smack it to see it bigger!)It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything regarding filmmaker Dan Walton’s planned feature directorial debut Bind, but today that’s all changed. Walton (who served as co-executive producer on 2008’s lurid Gutterballs) informed us that the film (which now features the tag-line “Hell Just Froze Over“) is set to go before cameras in March of 2010 in Vancouver, Canada, and also provided us with a synopsis of the 80’s horror homage and an updated cast list.

According to Walton, who will direct from his own script, Bind tells the story of “a weekend getaway to a scenic winter wonderland that takes a deadly turn when a group of friends find themselves pitted against the elements and a dark presence with a bloody agenda.

FX man Brian Sipe, whose previous credits include Van Helsing and Pirates of the Caribbean, will be on hand to provide what is expected to be a copious amount of gore. As for the cast, which once included Ken (Dawn of the Dead) Foree, Devon (Final Destination) Sawa, and horror journo Axelle Carolyn, Walton communicated that Bind’s players are now made up of genre vets Christa (2001 Maniacs) Campbell, Al (Jeepers Creepers 2) Santos, Wolfgang J (Into the Darkness) Weber, Travis Aaron (Pig Hunt) Wade, Raine (100 Tears) Brown, and Jessica (The Taken) Von, with more to be announced.

Dread Central will be on hand to cover the proceedings when Bind goes before the cameras, so stay tuned.
