New Stills: Ryan Reynolds is Buried Alive

Director Rodrigo Cortes has had the dubious honor of doing what many fans of the Blade film series wanted to do after seeing Blade: Trinity — bury Ryan Reynolds alive! That’s just what he did in his latest film, Buried, which is set to make its debut at Sundance, and we’ve got some new and very claustrophobic stills for you!

Buried stars Ryan Reynolds as a U.S. contractor working in Iraq who awakens to find that he has been buried alive inside of a coffin. Armed with only a lighter and a cell phone, it’s a race against time to escape this claustrophobic death trap before he runs out of air.

Check out the new stills below, and look for more on Buried really soon!

You're such an inspiration for the ways that I will never, ever choose to be.

  1. I just drank alot of vodka and was rejoicing because I thought he was buried alive for real. Damn, what a waste of perfectly good vodka.

    • Now I’ve always LIKED Ryan Reynolds. I’ve thought he was a natural comic performer. And he’s been far-and-away the best thing in any film he has done.

In this movie (based on the screenplay) none of his trademark snarkiness is in evidence. But I feel his natural charisma will shine through to make the picture work.

But then again, there will always be a contingent of fanboys who’ll never give him a chance based purely on the fact that he gets to go balls-deep into Scarlett Johansson every night.

      • Ryan Reynolds: “far-and-away the best thing”….. in Blade:Trinity? Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I’m not a Ryan Reynolds fan, although I did like his character in SMOKIN’ ACES, and I assure you it has NOTHING to go with Scarlett Johansson. She does nothing for me, average looking at best in my humble opinion.

  2. I’ve read the script for this and it’s terrific.

But it remains to be seen of the film-makers have the guts to keep the entire movie in the coffin.
