If you’re from the Boston area and you’re looking to ring in the holiday season with a double bill of horror classics, then keep reading for info on where you can catch the original Black Christmas and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
The slashing is set to occur at the Brattle Theatre this Saturday, beginning at 10pm. Located at 40 Brattle Street in Harvard Square, Cambridge MA 02138, there’s no better way to get into the Christmas mood.
I love the Brattle. It’s one of the few theaters in my area that bothers to show genre classics and I urge any local, fellow horror fans to head on out and support the screening. The only drawback is that the audience can occasionally fill up with hipster coffee house rats whose only aim is to ridicule something that’s “old and cheesy.” I’m all for good natured ribbing (SNDN should be especially fun with the right crowd), but it’s the lack of love that really irks me.
So why not celebrate Christmas a little early this year, and with a packed house of horror fans to boot! If you do go, be sure to say hi to the guy wearing the Camp Crystal Lake t-shirt armed with a beer in both fists. I’ll also be making obscene phone calls to all the nearby sorority houses as well.
