James Wan-Produced Lights Out Gets a Release Date

Produced by James Wan, David F. Sandberg’s upcoming film Lights Out is a feature expansion of his same-named short, which terrified the internet back in 2013. From what we understand, Warner Bros. and New Line are convinced they have a hit on their hands, and they’ve just set a date.

Lights Out will begin its theatrical haunt on July 22, 2016.

The story centers on a supernatural entity attacking a family, with one of the members required to step up to protect them from a threat that can be seen only when the lights go out.

Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) stars alongside Gabriel Bateman (Annabelle). Eric Heisserer (The Thing, Final Destination 5) wrote the screenplay and is also a producer as is Lawrence Grey (Grey Matter Productions).

While we wait for more, check out the original Lights Out short film below. And be sure to turn your lights out before you hit “play”!
