Updates on three different projects have come in over the weekend via Twitter, and rather than do separate stories on each, we’ve got them all right here … down & dirty, quick & easy … just how we know you like it!

Terror Tweets from Twitter

Last week we noticed a few stories pop up regarding the possibility of Scream 4 being in 3D. Not having any confirmation, we waited to hear more, which everyone did when Scream writer Kevin Williamson debunked the rumor as follows: “What is this Scream 4 in 3D? First I heard of it.” Then, an hour later came, “Guys? Really? 3D? Nahhhhh.” Hopefully he won’t be pressured into changing his tune. We have enough 3D projects floating around out there already, right?

Dread Central has been following the progress of Tales of an Ancient Empire, Albert Pyun’s unofficial follow-up to The Sword and the Sorcerer, for a while now; and Pyun is in the final stages of production. His AlbertPyunFilms Twitter feed has been providing a plethora of updates, clips, and stills recently, and we’ve got a look at two scenes that are still rough cuts below. Pyun’s 140-character request: “Story setup clip of ‘Tales of an Ancient Empire’ played 4,335 times in 4 days. Goal for next clip, 20,000“.

Kevin Sorbo, Christopher Lambert, Melissa Ordway, Whitney Able, Jennifer Siebel-Newsom, and Lee Horsley (star of The Sword and the Sorcerer) topline the cast, which also includes Janelle Taylor, Sarah Schultz, and Inbar Lavi. In addition, Pyun reunites with genre veterans Ralf Moeller (Cyborg) and Olivier Gruner (Nemesis), who appear in action cameos. The sword and sorcery epic, written by Cynthia Curnan, tells the story of a princess forced on a quest to recruit the greatest warriors of the ancient world to save her kingdom from a demonic sorceress. But the odyssey to find them reveals a secret past for all.

Approx. 38 minutes into the film, a sister, RAJAN, the town’s bar owner (Janelle Taylor), and her daughter, ALANA (Inbar Lavi), have now joined the growing “family” of warriors Aedan (Kevin Sorbo) Princess Tanis (Melissa Ordway), and Malia (Sarah Schultz).

Lastly, via The Twilight Saga: Eclipse director David Slade‘s fan-friendly tweets, we caught a playful peek of the film’s “almost wrap party“. But he also more seriously promised:

Best wishes now and into the future to all those who finished work tonight. Just a few more days shooting left. Finish line is approaching.

..and then there’s post production to start, 8 months of it….

Will keep tweeting through post… Its not over until the film is in cinemas.

According to Lainey Gossip, Ashley Greene and Taylor Lautner have headed home, and the remaining scenes will all happen in studio including Edward beating the shit out of and killing Victoria … the final Eclipse scene to be filmed will involve some romance.
