On tap right now we have the teaser trailer and artwork for Dead Draw, which we first brought to your attention back in January of 2014. See? Told you we’d keep an eye on it!

From the Press Release:
Dead Draw, an independent feature starring Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption, Parkland), Bitsie Tulloch (“Grimm,” Concussion), Michael Eklund (The Divide, Eadweard), and Brit Shaw (Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension) released its teaser trailer and website this week.

Written, directed, and edited by Brian Klemesrud of the Indiana-based Rocket3, LLC, the film follows four career criminals who plan the perfect heist: 25 million dollars, 8 safety deposit boxes, and months before anyone will know it’s gone. But when they discover their getaway pilot brutally murdered, they quickly understand someone knew about the job and set them up. Stranded in a frozen hangar, held hostage by someone outside, loyalty turns to suspicion and friends turn to enemies. Now it’s a race against time as the band of thieves try to uncover the rat and escape their troubled pasts… if they can survive the night.

A dark and intricately structured genre film, Dead Draw is a story where every motive is questioned, every moment is critical, and every secret could prove fatal.

Filmed in the record-cold polar vortex of 2014, outdoors and at night in Chicago and Lincoln, IL, Dead Draw is an unnerving, intense, claustrophobic crime-thriller. The film is completed, and the filmmakers are planning its 2016 festival run. It also stars Slaine Carrol (The Town), Faust Checho (Strange Nature), and Andy Ahrens (“Chicago Fire”).

While Dead Draw is Klemesrud’s debut feature, he has served as creative director on over 200 commercials and director on over a dozen shorts. He produced the film with actor/producer Faust Checho of FSC Productions, cinematographer/producer Jim Timperman, and producers Dan Kolen and Katie Bryan.

The team of Mark Yaeger (Yoko, Queen of the Desert) and Gueorgui Linev from the band Kan Wakan composed the original score. Philippe Thibaultwas the Digital Effects Supervisor. Touring member of Iron and Wine Jim Becker and Chicago singer-songwriter Becky Levi composed the many 1950s-style tracks that set the tone as diegetic music throughout the film.
