Even More Monster Squad Disc Details!

As was to be expected, the information about Lionsgate’s planned special edition release of Monster Squad on DVD is coming fast & furious now that the official announcement’s been made. Will we get a day without Squad DVD news between now and October? Who’s to say…?
Today Fangoria got a nice report in from Monster Mania where Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures was in attendance prepping material for the aforementioned disc. He revealed that Lionsgate plans on doing a brand-new transfer of the film that could look even better than the HD version shown on Monsters HD a while back (which, I should point out, looks amazing) and loading the DVD with extras. During Monster Mania Felsher recorded commentary with director Fred Dekker reminiscing about the classic film along with stars Andre Gower, Ashley Bank and Ryan Lambert, which should be a great addition to the disc.
More features haven’t been solidified as of yet, but Felsher did say he was shooting a series of featurettes while at the convention, including the “Monster Squad at Monster Mania” bonus we told you about yesterday.
