Neil Gaiman reveals Netflix’s SANDMAN Series Is Ready to Roll

Looks like Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of author Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman is coming along nicely and will be ready to roll once all of this Coronavirus business is over and done with.
On his official Tumblr page, Gaiman responded to a fan asking about the show’s current status, saying: “It’s going really well, except it’s kind of hibernating right now until people start making TV again. The scripts for the first season are written, casting had started, directors hired, sets were being built. Everything was ready to go into production, and then we moved into a pause. As soon as the world is ready to make TV drama, Sandman will move smoothly back into being made. In the meantime, we are taking the opportunity to get the scripts as good as we can.”

The Sandman is a story about stories and how Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, is captured and subsequently learns that sometimes change is inevitable. Morpheus is one of the seven Endless. The others are Destiny, Death, Desire, Despair, Delirium /Delight, and Destruction / The Prodigal.
The original comic series ran for 75 issues from January 1989 to March 1996. Its artists include Sam Kieth, Mike Dringenberg, Jill Thompson, Shawn McManus, Marc Hempel, and Michael Zulli, with lettering by Todd Klein and covers by Dave McKean. Buy it by clicking the image below.
