Neil Marshall is a guy whose involvement in a project automatically makes my pants all sticky. And while I’d like to apologize up front for that repugnant image, I would also like to fill you in on what the director of Dog Soldiers, The Descent and Doomsday is up to next – sadly it does not start with a D.
Bloody-Disgusting got word that Marshall will be working on Burst 3D for Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Penned by Gary Dauberman, the flick follows a young woman running from her troubles and finds herself stranded at a lodge with a group of strangers. One after another, they inexplicably begin to burst into pieces. Shock quickly descends into paranoia as nobody knows who to trust. And as the mystery unravels, the survivors realize that what’s causing this unstoppable phenomenon is bigger and more disturbing than anyone could have ever imagined.
Sam Raimi will produce along with his Ghost House partner, Rob Tapert. Nathan Kahane will serve as the executive producer while Tendo Nagenda and J.R. Young will oversee the project for the production company, which was developed in mutual with Lionsgate.
No word on casting yet, but we’ll fill you in as the information finds its way to our grubby little hands. Personally, I find this to be some of the best news of late. Marshall always brings his A game (screw you all, Doomsday RULES) and this sounds like it could really deliver the goods.
Oh, and Neil, if you’re reading this: what are my chances with Rhona Mitra?
