Limited Edition Ornament Recreates The Thing Blood Test Scene

It’s become an annual tradition that myself and artist Gabe LaPeer partner on a holiday horror ornament, and the past two years we’ve allowed you to immortalize Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Return of the Living Dead on your tree. This year, it’s all about Carpenter’s The Thing.

One of the most iconic scenes from the 1982 remake saw MacReady testing blood samples of the Outpost 31 workers, hoping to discover which one wasn’t really who he appeared to be. As it turned out, Palmer wasn’t exactly Palmer, leading to a horrific scene that most fans have never forgotten.

This year’s third annual Freddy in Space x Homemade Horror holiday ornament recreates that scene. Hand-sculpted and hand-painted by Gabe, the ornament is resin-cast and stands about 5″ tall, and the bronze eye hook can easily be removed to convert it into a year-round display piece.

The 2015 Freddy in Space x Homemade Horror ornament goes on sale at 10am EST on Friday, November 6th, and will be available through 10am EST on Saturday, November 7th. It can be yours for $25, and we assure you that once the clock strikes 10am on Saturday, they’ll be gone forever.

These ornaments are made to order and will begin shipping out early next month, guaranteed to arrive in plenty of time for Christmas. Grab yours in the Freddy in Space Storenvy shop!
