The Zed Fest Film Festival and Screenplay Competition was founded in 2010 by Wendy Medrano and Ed Stephens to support and showcase independent filmmaking, and the 2015 version begins tomorrow, November 5th. If you live in or near Los Angeles and are a fan of indie films, this is one event you don’t want to miss!

About Zed Fest:
You’ve heard of “B-Movies,” right? The low-budget second movie in a double feature. Movies that were bad… or so bad they’re good. Movies that demand multiple viewings and you can’t help but quote. You’ve probably have never heard of “Z-Movies,” have you? The Z-Movies (or, as we like to call them, “Zed-Flicks”) were usually independent micro-budget productions with unknown cast members made by filmmakers who had dedication to complete their films. They were the early incarnation of grindhouse and drive-in flicks. Actually, many of what are considered old B-Movies today were actually “Z’s” back when they first came out. In our opinion the “Z’s” are better.

Zed Fest runs November 5-8, 2015. It kicks off at Laemmle’s NoHo 7 in the NoHo Arts District of North Hollywood, followed by three nights at The Missing Piece Theater, 2811 W. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, California.

Following are the highlights; be sure to visit ZedFest.org for the full details.
