Twelve More Markets Added to Paranormal Activity Release Roll-Out

One city several our readers have been hoping to see Paranormal Activity screen in is Pittsburgh, and we are happy to report that it is indeed included in the 12 new markets where the film will open this weekend due to your demands.

Specifically, if you live in Boston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, El Paso, Hampton Roads metro area, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Portland, Salt Lake City, or Toronto, you, too, can soon see what the fuss is all about.

A recent email update let us know that in addition, since college students represented an overwhelmingly large percentage of the film’s online demands, Paranormal Activity will also open at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a special thank you to the college audience.

As a reminder, Paramount is committed to releasing the film nationwide in every city, big or small, as soon as 1 MILLION demands are reached. Plus, one lucky fan will be selected from the list of many demanding the film to receive a VIP screening of Paranormal Activity in their home town with the film’s director/writer/producer Oren Peli.

Make sure you’re part of the phenomenon. DEMAND IT for your town, too!

I’d like to say I think the movie would do well in Portland OR, but there is still no sight nor sound of it coming, to my town. I love a good scary movie and saw that the demand number for it in my town has only apparently reached the 4k+ mark. That being as of 10/7/09, at 8PM. Is this movie REALLY that interesting, fightening, even scary? We have yet to find released, a really GOOD, scary movie since(in my opinion) 13 Ghosts. So the reason for my comment is this; If it is true that the movie will be released in Portland, OR, what theaters might run it, and further, when might it be slated to run?
