DVD Releases: October 6, 2009: Trick ‘r Treat with The Children in a Dark Country

We have a bumper crop of DVD and Blu-ray releases this week what with Trick ‘r Treat FINALLY coming home along with Ghost House Pictures’ four-pack of The Thaw, Offspring, Seventh Moon, and The Children. And that’s just the beginning!

We’re not sure who was clamoring for the Wicked Lake soundtrack, but it’s part of the film’s reissue. In addition, we get Thomas Jane’s directorial debut, Dark Country, along with two remakes that definitely seem to have seen better days: It’s Alive and Children of the Corn. On the “Blu” front there are re-releases of Audition and The Number 23. For completely different reasons, proceed with ordering them at your own risk!

Don’t forget about Godkiller, Staunton Hill, and, at long last, The Gate as well. Something tells me a lot of credit cards are going to be maxed out this week!

  1. Dear Netflix: YOU SUCK. I’M PISSED. Ok, I have had Trick R Treat below my que in the “saved dvd” que since last summer(08) waiting to hear something on how it’s going to be released. As soon as it moved up to my DVD que I immediately put it at the top of my que. I had a movie sent out today……….BUT NOT TRICK R TREAT, 100 FEET which I had below Trick R Treat. Now Trick or Treat says “very long wait”. That sucks. I really wanted to see it.I have had that sitting on there and on the yop for so long I thought I was sure to get it. F!!! Oh well, I’ll find it somewhere!! Hey um, did you mail out those free copies of Trick R Treat you were giving away? LOL. Ok, but truth be told I love Netflix I’ve used them for years I was just hoping I would be one of the lucky to have that shipped today.
