A Trailer for The Revenant Finds Its Way Online

When we first put up our five-knife review for D. Kerry Prior’s The Revenant last May, I was a bit taken aback. Where did this flick come from, and how in the hell was it worthy of a perfect score? Well, now that I’ve seen it (thanks to the awesome Fantastic Fest), I have to admit that, despite it being a tad too long, it is indeed nearly flawless. Now, finally, a trailer has popped up to show everyone else what the fuss is all about.

Thanks to Quiet Earth, who pointed us in the direction of the clip, we also have an official synopsis as well:

The Revenant (review here) is a story about an ancient pestilence recurring to infect modern society.

Officer First Class Bart Gregory (David Anders) is killed while fighting in the Middle East. His body is shipped back to the United States and laid to rest, but before the lid can be put on his tomb, Bart inexplicably awakens in his coffin and climbs from his grave. He’s confused, horrified–a moldy, putrefying living corpse–a Revenant.

As we reported yesterday, Prior won a Best Director award at Fantastic Fest, and The Revenant received an Honorable Mention Audience Award, so hopefully the positive buzz currently being generated for the film will help get it before more people’s eyeballs sooner rather than later!
