Watch Footage from Hilarious Low-Budget Stage Show Jaws: Live!

This past summer was a big one for Jaws fans, as it marked the 40th anniversary of the horror classic’s original release. In celebration, the film was put back into theaters for a limited time, but it wasn’t the only special event tied to the big anniversary. Oh boy, do we have a treat for you today.

Back in July, the fine folks who comprise comedy troupe Old Murder House Theatre put together a live stage show at Austin, Texas’ Scottish Rite Theatre, a limited engagement that saw the actors recreating Jaws, scene by scene. That’s sort of their M.O., and the show was their wackiest to date.

With props made out of cardboard, the low-budget play was a total DIY affair, and though it was mostly a direct recreation of the film, trust us when we say you haven’t seen Jaws like this before. The troupe’s rendition of Spielberg’s horror masterpiece was hilarious and wonderfully creative.

Directed by Sam Eidson, the show starred Byron Brown as Martin Brody, John Merriman as Matt Hooper, and Kirk Johnson as Quint.
