When you live in small towns like Forks and LaPush, Washington, having an influx of 1,200 to 1,500 people for a weekend event is sure to help the local economy. And that’s exactly what transpired during the celebration known as Bella’s Birthday and Stephenie Meyer Day, which ran this past September 12th and 13th, 2009.

Below is a photograph of hundreds of the Twilight Saga fans who turned out for a Saturday afternoon group photo at Tillicum Park in Forks. With events ranging from a Saturday morning birthday breakfast to a tour of the local high school to look-alike contests to authentic Quileute Indian Tribe storytelling, there was a little something for everyone. And to show what hardcore fans the locals are, the Forks and LaPush Post Offices teamed up to offer a special postmark for the attendees to commemorate Bella’s Birthday during the two-day celebration. The oversized 2×4 inch postmark was available on special red envelopes with a generic 61-cent Happy Birthday stamp.

In addition, according to the Forks Forum (be sure to hit the link to see the special postmark & envelope), during the weekend a sneak preview of clips from Twilight in Forks – The Saga of the Real Town (see the trailer here) was shown. Fortunately for the filmmakers, Summit Entertainment will be distributing the hour-long documentary video this spring to coincide with the release of the DVD version of New Moon either as part of the disc’s special features or as a stand-alone (the details are still being worked out).
