Harker graphic novelNow this is interesting news. Not only do Dracula fans have the official sequel in novel form, Dracula: The Un-Dead (which we first told you about here), to look forward to this October, there’s also a totally separate, but still Stoker family-sanctioned, graphic novel on its way.

From MTV: Entitled From the Pages of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”: Harker, Tony (Doctor Who) Lee’s upcoming graphic novel follows the cast of Stoker’s 1897 novel as they attempt to put their lives back together in the aftermath of Count Dracula’s death. “This is the first-ever graphic novel that has an endorsement from the Stoker family,” said Lee of the book, which will feature an introduction by Dacre Stoker, the great grandnephew of Bram Stoker.

“When I first started doing ‘Harker,’ I spoke to Dacre because I heard he was doing his sequel,” said Lee. “We discussed it all and discovered there was no major crossover in our stories. Following that, Dacre ended up involved with everything since that point.” The 112-page novel will feature art by Peter-David Douglas and Neil Van Antwerpen and an introduction by Dacre and Ian Holt, a Dracula historian with whom Dacre is co-writing his sequel.

According to Lee, “Harker” is set six months after the conclusion of the main story arc in “Dracula” but before the final chapter in which Jonathan and Mina Harker’s son is born. The project will also feature a host of returning characters from the original novel. “The hunters have come back to Victorian London to regroup, Mina’s now pregnant with the child we know is going to turn up because he’s alive in the end note of ‘Dracula,'” explained Lee. “Jonathan gets a ghostly message from Quincey Morris informing him that, although they killed Dracula, they didn’t get them all. The fourth bride of Dracula, the Countess Dracul, is on her way to London to get revenge on the people who killed her husband.”
