Production began last week on War for the Planet of the Apes, and the third installment in the prequel franchise is headed our way in 2017. On tap today is the latest casting news for the sequel, revealing the returns of two apes from the previous films – being played by returning actors.

Per THR, Judy Greer will reprise the role of Cornelia, the chimpanzee wife of apes leader Caesar, while Karin Konoval is back to play Maurice, the orangutan with a gentle soul. Greer played Cornelia in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, while Konoval was Maurice in both of the previous films.

The film also stars Steve Zahn, Woody Harrelson, Chad Rood, Terry Notary, Amiah Miller, and Gabriel Chavarria. Andy Serkis returns as Caesar.

Matt Reeves, who directed 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is returning to helm from a script by Mark Bomback. Chernin Entertainment, Dylan Clark, Rick Jaffa, and Amanda Silver are producing the film, shooting in Vancouver.

The storyline is being kept under wraps.

War for the Planet of the Apes will be released on July 14, 2017.
