Our friends over at CryptTV are doing one hell of a job bringing awesome original content to the horror world, and they’ve got a whole lot of fun in store this month. First up, they’ve just unleashed their very own horror icon, and they want you – yes, YOU – to help write his story. Read on!

We’re excited to exclusively announce that CryptTV, the digital genre network co-founded by Eli Roth and Jack Davis, which produced the first ever Snapchat murder mystery, today unveiled Chainsaw – an interactive digital story that empowers horror fans to build the next iconic slasher.

In a short video released today (below), Roth shows a snippet from CryptTV’s new short, a proof of character concept about a mysterious, chainsaw-wielding slasher who terrorizes an October haunted house. The video concludes with Roth and directors Culprit Creative, who previously worked together on the murder mystery, extending a unique invitation to fans: Build Chainsaw’s backstory and mythology with YOUR ideas, and give your take on what should happen in the feature version.

How can you help build the next iconic slasher? By going to WhoIsChainsaw.com and entering your email address, you will unlock the short and be invited to submit your ideas on where Chainsaw came from and where his story should go next. However, there is a catch: There is a 48-hour time window to sign up to watch the short and enter your email before the video becomes private and CryptTV stops accepting email addresses. Roth and Culprit Creative will personally be reviewing submissions, and fans will receive email updates with story progress and be invited to give their input every step of the way.

CryptTV, which has a strategic partnership with Blumhouse Productions, is an original for digital genre network that creates content inspired by its message #WeirdIsGood. Launched in April, CryptTV primarily releases videos through its Facebook page (facebook.com/CryptTV) and has amassed over 180,000 fans.
