Some big casting news came out of Darren Bousman’s camp for his upcoming remake of Mother’s Day, including who will be filling Mama and Ike’s blood-soaked shoes.

De Mornay, Flueger, Nappo

According to The Hollywood Reporter Rebecca De Mornay has signed on to play the infamous mother in question.

Every time you look at [Rebecca], she is on fire, and to take her to this level, which is like her role in ‘Hand That Rocks the Cradle’ times a thousand, is exciting,” Bousman tells the trade. “She is not some Freddy Krueger or Jason, so it was important for me to get a real actress.

This announcement comes on the heels of Bloody-Disgusting‘s report that Patrick Flueger (Kill Theory, “The 4400”) has been signed to play one of Mother’s sons, “Ike”, and Bousman’s Twitter announcement that he’s tapped Tony Nappo (Saw II) to play a character named “Dave” in the film.

The trio will be joining Deborah Ann Woll, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, Shawn Ashmore, Matt O’Leary, Lyriq Ben,t and Lisa Marcos. Written by Scott Milam, the remake of the classic 80’s Troma film follows a wicked family’s return to the house where they grew up to terrorize the new owners and their guests. Mother, as the character is called, will to go any length to protect her children.

Mother’s Day begins filming next week in Winnipeg, Canada. Look for more soon!
