We have some sad news for those hoping that Michael Ontkean, better known as Sheriff Harry S. Truman, would be returning to Showtime’s “Twin Peaks.” TVLine is reporting that Ontkean has opted not to reprise his beloved role in the upcoming limited-run revival.

Rumor has it that veteran actor Robert Forster (“Heroes,” “Karen Sisco”) has stepped in to replace Ontkean as the town’s top lawman, although it’s unclear if he will be playing Truman or a new sheriff.

Peter Sarsgaard (Orphan, “The Killing”), Robert Knepper (every TV show imaginable), Amanda Seyfried (Jennifer’s Body, Ted 2), and Balthazar Getty (Feast) comprise the rest of the town’s new residents.

Rumored to be coming back are David Patrick Kelly, reprising his role as Jerry Horne. Richard Beymer has also been rumored to be resurrecting his character of Jerry’s brother, Benjamin.

“Twin Peaks” is currently in production with Lynch directing. He is expected to shoot the series continuously as a movie and later cut it into episodes.
