As announced previously, Halo-8 Entertainment will be releasing its Godkiller: Walk Among Us “illustrated film” series in the form of bi-monthly, episodic DVDs. Additionally, we’ve learned that each of the three DVDs will come packaged with a serialized audiobook of the prequel novel Godkiller: Silent War, written by the film’s award-winning writer/director Matt Pizzolo.
If it sounds a little confusing, let Pizzolo explain, “Godkiller is split into two periods… there’s the pre-nuke world of Silent War and there’s the post-nuke world of the graphic novel and illustrated film Walk Among Us. So Silent War is only a prequel insofar as it happens beforehand, but its events drive the Walk Among Us story, and many of the same characters appear in both. I’m super excited that the two stories can roll out together in this integrated way–everything about this project is unorthodox and crazy, hopefully everyone will enjoy the ride.”
Pre-nuke Godkiller: Silent War is the story of the end of civilization as we know it. In the near future 17-year-old Joe Junior and his girlfriend Bee run a speakeasy in the basement of an abandoned NYC church where they serve narcotic drinks to underagers while providing sanctuary and black-market employment to draft dodgers. When Joe is recruited by an armed cult of populist assassins, he is thrust into a secret world of international cabals, alien conspiracies, and the countdown to Armageddon.
Post-nuke Godkiller: Walk Among Us is the epic story of a boy on a quest to save his dying sister. It takes place in a dark future after economic collapse, after nuclear holy war, and after Earth is colonized by alien races. Tommy and his kid sister Lucy live in an orphanage in one of the few remaining city-states, but Lucy is critically ill and desperately in need of a new heart. Tommy’s odyssey to find a new heart for his sister begins when he follows an organ-stealing prostitute named Halfpipe out of the city-state and into the savage borderland known as Outer City.
Godkiller‘s eclectic cast of voice actors includes Danielle Harris, Lance Henriksen, Justin Pierre, Tiffany Shepis, Bill Moseley, Nicki Clyne, Katie Nisa, Lydia Lunch, and Davey Havok. Halo-8‘s innovative release schedule for the film will roll out as follows:
