“It’s a blind date. Keep an open mind…” Today we’ve got a first look at award-winning Skypemare director John Fitzpatrick’s Jordan Ladd-starring short holiday horror film Brentwood Strangler, and it’s a Christmas doozy! Step inside for some Yuletide terror.

Written and directed by Fitzpatrick, who in addition to having helmed the festival darling Skypemare is currently heading up his “Scary Endings” short film series (you can check those out on YouTube), the synopsis for Brentwood Strangler is as follows:

It’s the holiday season in Los Angeles, and women are being strangled to death in the Westwood area. Maggie (actress Jordan Ladd of Death Proof and Cabin Fever fame), a lonely woman, goes on a blind date unbeknownst to her that her date is an active and notorious serial killer, The Brentwood Strangler. Is love in the air? Or is Maggie in for the worst (and last) date of her life?

Said Fitzpatrick of the film, “It’s intended to be an homage to classic thrillers of the past such as Strangers on a Train, Marnie, and Psycho, with a focus on story and character, saluting a genre, and bending it and hopefully leaving the audience wanting more.”

Produced in conjunction with Far From Everything Films’ executive producers Jennifer Van Gessel and Nina Friis, Brentwood Strangler producers include filmmaker Fitzpatrick, Sarah Fitzpatrick, Adam J. Yeend, and Ryan Dillon (the latter two who also star). Rounding out the cast are Maximilian Osinski, Annika Marks, and veteran actor Cameron Daddo.

A trailer for Brentwood Strangler is forthcoming. In the interim, you can stay up-to-date on the film, receive screening updates, and more at the film’s Facebook page.
