Now that the Toronto International Film Festival is fast approaching, we’re getting better looks at a few of the films that will be playing there, including Werner Herzog’s My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done? Five new stills from the film hit online today, and they definitely convey a sense of unease — but what else would you expect from Herzog and his long-time cinematographer Peter Zeitlinger?

Collider scored the first look at the pics so be sure to hit the link to see the rest of them. The following summary comes from the TIFF 09 site, where you can find more info on all the films that will be showing there:

Inspired by true events, My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done, is a story of ancient myth and modern madness. Brad Macallam, an aspiring actor performing in a Greek tragedy, commits the crime he is to enact in the play by killing his mother. The mystery unfolds in a series of flashbacks displaying the psychological destruction of the killer set off by an ill-fated white-water kayaking trip in a distant land.

Michael (Bug) Shannon stars as Macallam with the always wonderful Grace Zabriske playing his doomed mother. They are supported by Willem Dafoe, Chloe Sevigny, Michael Peña, Brad Dourif, and Udo Keir.
