New DLC Due for Left 4 Dead

Left 4 DeadValve Software announced yesterday that a new DLC pack for the original Left 4 Dead is due in September. ‘Crash Course’ is a new chapter to the game, set between the original ‘No Mercy’ and ‘Death Toll’ campaigns.

Word is that it will feature new single-player, multi-player, and co-op gameplay options, as well as a streamlined 30-minute ‘Versus’ mode.

One point that might stick in the craw of gamers is that owners of the PC version of the game can download this pack for free … while Xbox 360 owners will drop 560 MS points for the exact same content. (Achievements are getting more expensive by the moment, apparently.)

Whether this is a sign that Valve intends to continue supporting the original Left 4 Dead while releasing and supporting the oh-so-quick sequel due out this fall remains to be seen. Look for this bit of DLC to hit online in September.
