Balthazar Getty worked with David Lynch in the classic bit of cinema weirdness known as The Lost Highway, and now according to TVLine he’s collaborating with the Sultan of Strange yet again on his return to “Twin Peaks.”

No word on who or what he’ll be playing, but we’ll be watching intently. Getty (pictured below) joins the previously announced Amanda Seyfried and who knows who else.

Showtime Networks president David Nevins previously announced that Lynch is set to direct all episodes. He and Mark Frost wrote one long script that will be shot continuously as a movie and later cut into episodes. Originally envisioned as being nine (9) episodes, the series will likely run longer, but the exact number is still in flux and won’t be known until after filming is completed.

Beyond the return of Kyle MacLachlan, Nevins declined to comment on casting other than saying we “should be optimistic that the people you want to be there will be there, in addition to some surprises.”

After rumors that we won’t see the show until 2017, there is now hope that “Twin Peaks” could be ready for 2016.  But Lynch has complete creative control over the project so Nevins added, “I’ll take it when it’s ready; I hope that’s sooner rather than later.”
